If you have not recently or have never visited the restaurant at Summerhill Pyramid Winery, you are missing out on some great food prepared by chef Alex Lavroff. I was lucky to have had dinner at the winery and tried the char from Oliver with warm potato salad, wild horseradish and saffron cr猫me fraiche. Other guests sampled the pan roasted farm crest natural chicken breast with potato, Fraser Valley bacon, shaved fennel and pickled mustard seed. Warm olives were served as a starter and we shared a Yuzu chiffon cake (Organic Riesling sabayon, cardamom poached pear, apricot and galangal sorbet and vanilla meringue) dessert. All were absolutely delicious and the view is spectacular. Hayden Duval is the pastry chef and Paul LaGrange is the food and beverage manager. Call 250- 764-800 for reservations.

Regrettably, Rene passed away before any signage or mention of SYNLawn鈥檚 involvement could be properly addressed. There is going to be a plaque dedication ceremony on Thursday, May 18 at 11 a.m. to have naming rights awarded for the two areas that SYNLawn was involved in. The first will be mentioned in Rene鈥檚 name and the second area will be named in honour of another pet advocate within the SYNLawn family, Erica Malanchuk. www.synlawn.ca
