What’s the Address to a Haggis you ask? It is something you need to see and hear for yourself.

The Penticton Scottish Festival Society is hosting ‘A Celebration of Robert Burns’ on Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Penticton Lakeside Resort. One of the evening’s highlights is the reading of a poem written by Scotland’s famous poet Robert Burns, first published in 1786, Address to a Haggis.

It is a distinct honour to have Ms. Ann Gray immortalize the poem for Burns Night guests. Gray is an internationally recognized bagpiper who reached professional status by age eighteen. She has competed individually and with Grade one (top level) pipe bands through the years as well as composed tunes, recorded CDs, published two music books, taught at many piping schools and has judged at competitions around the world.

The Castilla School of Irish Dance and the Emily McDonald School of Highland Dance are once again teaming up for a special choreography.

The Vale United Pipe Band and Naramata Scottish Country Dancers will also provide entertainment. There’s a full roast beef dinner complete with all the trimmings and real Haggis.

This fundraising event supports the Penticton Scottish Festival which will be held July 5 and 6 this year. Doors open at 4:15 p.m. and dinner is at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are available at or phone 250-896-8888.
