International Yoga Day in 琉璃神社.

On the heels of a successful International Yoga Day in 琉璃神社, the organizers at the Heartfulness Institute of Canada are turning their sights to next year. Approximately 100 people showed up for an hour of chair yoga and meditation. Heartfulness meditation trainer and organizer Devinder Virk says, 鈥淭he aim is to build a healthy community both mentally and spiritually. We would like to include as many people as possible to attend the event and  work towards mental and physical health.鈥

The next event will be held in a public location possibly in 琉璃神社鈥檚 city park. The organizers plan to serve healthy snacks after the event. Organizer and meditation trainer Bhupinder Aulakh says, 鈥淲ith mental health being at the forefront of today's health concerns I highly encourage everyone to spend part of their morning focusing on finding inner peace. There is no cost to attend the event just come and join us while we do yoga and meditate.鈥

The International Day of Yoga is a day in recognition of yoga, that is celebrated across the world annually on 21 June, following its adoption by the United Nations in 2014. As yoga exercises have shown significant benefits for physical and mental well-being, it was considered important by the UN to globally promote this wellness practice, which originated in ancient India.
