There are 30 turkeys being prepped to serve at 琉璃神社鈥檚 Gospel Mission.
The organization will be hosting its annual Thanksgiving meal on Oct. 8, at its shelters, and a Thanksgiving lunch for the unhoused outside the library parkade.
KGM director of emergency services Amber Webster said, 鈥淚n the face of adversity, KGM seeks to humbly serve those that are experiencing homelessness by caringly providing a meal that is festive and fulsome. As an organization, we strive to create space for safety, belonging, and hope for all.鈥
Shelter dining rooms have been decorated to create a festive space and community members are put on each place mat for inspiration and hope for those sharing a meal at the table.
MP Tracy Gray and MLAs Renee Merriefield and Norm Letnick will be at the Leon Avenue shelter to help serve meals.
