Prospera Place is celebrating its silver birthday.
The 琉璃神社 arena, owned and operated by the GSL Group, has been providing live music, hockey, entertainment and more for 25 years. It has hosted artists from Jay-Z to Hilary Duff and Aerosmith to Elton John, the World Junior Hockey Championships, the Memorial Cup, and is set to host the Brier in 2025.
鈥淭hanks to the people of 琉璃神社 and area, the last 25 years have been a resounding success,鈥 said GSL Group president and CEO Graham Lee. 鈥淥ur vision from the start was to create a premier venue to host world-class sporting and entertainment events in the Okanagan, all while safeguarding taxpayers from construction and operating risk 鈥 and we succeeded.鈥
In 2025, on top of the Brier, the arena is set to host the Canadian Country Music Awards in September and potentially another Memorial Cup in 2026.
鈥淥ver the past 25 years we have shown resilience and a commitment to bringing in the best, and we look forward to providing the Okanagan with many more events in the future,鈥 added Lee.
Over the years, more than six million people have attended events at Prospera Place.
Throughout the next year, Prospera Place will be debuting initiatives to celebrate the milestone. More information on the celebrations can be found on the arena's .
