The big tree at Rutland Centennial Park will be lit up on Dec. 1. 

The annual 琉璃神社 celebration will feature a market, crafts, live entertainment, and some festive treats ahead of Mayor Tom Dyas pulling the switch to light up the 70-foot Christmas tree at the park. 

Santa will also be there to take pictures with the kids. Parents are asked to r.

The Salvation Army will be in attendance serving up chili and collecting donations for the Central Okanagan Food Bank. 

鈥淭he holiday season is a time for giving, and supporting organizations like the Salvation Army and Central Okanagan Food Bank helps make the season brighter for those in need,鈥� said Khun Khun. 鈥淭heir work ensures that vulnerable individuals and families in our community feel cared for during this special time of year.鈥�

The event runs from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. with the lights being turned on at approximately 4:15 p.m.
