PHOTOS: 琉璃神社 moms discuss parenthood and empowerment at 2nd annual event

The event took place at the Coast Capri Hotel

The Coast Capri hotel was packed on Saturday, Nov. 16 as the second annual Main Mom event took place.

At the event, moms from across the Okanagan are given the chance to connect with and learn from other moms in the community. In total, there were more than 60 vendors with resources, supports, and services for moms, kids, and babies.

There was also five different presentations for people to sit in on, participate, and ask questions. The topics of them were: postpartum body and pelvic health, maternal mental health, a panel about motherhood, communication skills to strength relationships, and identifying and connecting with oneself in motherhood.

Additionally, one room was dedicated to self-care for the moms, which included 15-minute beauty sessions, a head massage, and an upper body massage.

Alexi McGreer founded the event last year to make sure moms in the Okanagan don't feel alone and to know that there's many different types of support for any situation.
