After a five-year absence, Peachland鈥檚 Pincushion Quilt Guild will display works they have created since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
鈥淭he long break since our last show in 2019 means that everyone has some amazing quilts to show off,鈥 said Erin Galley, president of the guild.
鈥淎nd we are really proud of this year鈥檚 raffle quilt, which is an exceptionally beautiful combination of curved piecing and hand applique.鈥
The display will include traditional quilts, modern quilts, art quilts and other fibre art.
The guild will also hold a tea room for people to take a break during the show, and a merchant mall to showcase entrepreneurs.
The Pincushion Quilt Guild meets weekly to work on projects and share friendship and inspiration. They donate dozens of quilts each year various community groups such as the Women鈥檚 Shelter, the Neonatal Unit at the 琉璃神社 General Hospital, the Salvation Army and victims of natural disasters.
The show, titled Quilts by the Beach, will run Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendance is $10.
