Results from Okanagan College's Skills Regionals

Eight Okanagan students in Grades 7-9 will be heading to Abbotsford for the 2025 Skills Nationals, taking place on Wednesday, April 16

The annual Skills Trades Regional competition between high school students took place at Okanagan College on Friday, Feb. 28.

More than 200 students from all over the region were at the Okanagan College (OC) campus in 琉璃神社 on Friday, Feb. 28 as they took part in the annual Skills Canada BC Regional Trades and Technologies competition.

In total, there were 10 events, including the 40th annual Spaghetti Bridge as students from Grades 6-12 battled it out in the timed competitions.

"We are proud to be able to host so many students from across the region and have them come to our campus to take part in the Skills Regionals,鈥 said Associate Dean of Trades and Apprenticeship Danny Marques. 鈥淭his event is about supporting students in their lifelong journey. We want to inspire and support their skills development, while introducing them to our learning environment."

The results of the Regionals were:

Architectural CAD:

  • Gold - Jadeynn Papineau, 琉璃神社 Secondary School

Cabinetry:

Junior Carpentry:
