SEISMIC activity to shake, rattle, roll Vernon resort

SilverStar Mountain Resort's annual 10-day spring mountain festival, SEISMIC, begins Friday, March 28.

Expect some ground-rattling good times at Vernon's ski hill.

SilverStar Mountain Resort hosts its annual Seismic celebration with activities on the hill from March 28 to April 6.

"We're kicking of Seismic with slushy spring laps and a weekend of non-stop events," said the resort in a release. "Enjoy 10 days of free live music, beverage gardens, sports events, art and culture, and wicked spring skiing conditions."

The final day of the 2025 Alpine Canada sanctioned U16 Western Skiing Championships, hosted by the Vernon Ski Club and SilverStar, is Friday, March 28.

The Women's Slalom race will be held on The Face, while the Men's Giant Slalom will test the run on Gypsy Queen.

The event's Volunteer Appreciation runs from 3-4:30 p.m. at Town Hall. The event's awards will be presented on the Village Stage at 4 p.m.

Opening weekend launches the spring festival with live music featuring the Okanagan's Kailee Duggan for Acoustic Apres at The Den from 3-5 p.m. Duggan has developed a smooth, soulful folk/pop sound that is uniquely hers.

The Red Antler hosts burchill, with support from LaBeat & JoJo, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, March 28. burchill will also take to the Village Stage Saturday, March 29, from 2-4 p.m.

The Seismic Smith Season Finale Rail Jam is a street-style jam in the village Saturday, March 29, from 2-4 p.m.

SilverStar has teamed with Nokian Tyres to host a Green Tire Giveaway in March.

Follow the clues on the resorts socials and be entered to win a free set of winter tires. All you have to do is follow the online clues and guess where the Green Tire is hidden. Follow SilverStar on  and  to view the clues then place your guess . Clues are online March 29. 

A Seismic Market, in collaboration with Polson Artisan Markets, will be held in the village Saturday, March 29, from 12-4 p.m. Shop from a selection of local artisans as they showcase their wares.

The music continues Sunday, March 30, at the Nokian Tyres Community Stage with the Liz Blair Project on stage from 12-1 p.m., followed by The Feels from 1:30-2:15 p.m., and 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Painted helmets are the focus of Art on the Dome, a show ongoing at the Artists Lounge Gallery in the village until April 4. Public voting for the best helmet – will be open. Silent auction runs from now until 3 p.m. April 4. A post-party event runs April 4 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Partial proceeds benefit the Silver Star Adaptive Sports.

SilverStar currently lists a base of 193 centimetres with summit snow expected Friday evening, and sun and cloud in the forecast for the weekend.
