A Ukrainian visual artist in 琉璃神社 is sharing her story of escaping the war in her new book 'Light in the Darkness: Escaping the War in Ukraine'.

Stefania Miroshnychenko from Ukraine's capital Kyiv, details her life with the metaphor of a canvas being ripped apart when Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022.

With the three-year anniversary of the start of the war on the horizon, Miroshnychenko is hosting a book launch Mar. 6 at the Metro Hub.

The Ukrainian author will share details of her life as a visual artist before the Russian invasion and the irreversible changes she's encountered leaving her war-torn country for Canada.

The book launch starts at 7 p.m. and is free to everyone. Metro Hub is asking those interested in attending.
