The biggest book sale of the year is taking up new space.
After morethan 20 years at the Vernon Curling Rink, the Vernon Friends of the Library annual book sale is moving their gigantic book sale to the Schubert Centre May 1 to 3.
For sale will be some of all the categories of books the library holds plus many donations of books from generous patrons.
Book sale hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Prices are $2 for adult books and $1 for children鈥檚 books.
"An added plus of moving to the Schubert Centre is the ability to have coffee and/or enjoy a delicious lunch on Friday, May 2," said Linda Wills with the non-profit society. "You might even want to have a look at their well-organized downstairs thrift shop."
All proceeds go to non-budget items at the library like children鈥檚 area decorations, honorariums for speakers, and big-ticket items like the Makerspace where you can use equipment and tools for hands-on projects, digital media creation, and more.
"Join the crowd and stock up for summer reading. The yearly book sale is the greatest recycling event in Vernon!"
