One of the North Okanagan's first charity golf tournaments each year is putting out the call for teams and groups.

The seventh annual Vernon Lions Club Charity Golf Tournament and Auction Fundraiser for Camp Winfield is slated for Saturday, May 31, at the Vernon Golf and Country Club.

The tourney is a fun, 18-hole scramble tournament to help fund the Easter Seals' Camp Winfield, support facility maintenance and improvements, and to subsidize camper-ships for children with special needs.

"We are so thankful for our general donors for their contributions to help us deliver life-changing work," said Easter Seals. "Your impact and support helps ensure we can meet the costs of running and maintaining our camp facilities and Easter Seals House.

"The tournament also allows us to give as many people as possible the experiences they rely on and need for our programs and services like summer camp, online classes, and Easter Seals House."

Registration fee is $200 per individual ($800 for a foursome), and includes the 18-hole tournament with shotgun start (1 p.m.), shared golf cart, buffet dinner and prizes, and silent and live auctions.

During the tournament, there will be a putting contest; PGA Long Drive Champion (with a chance to win a golf vacation of a lifetime); 50-50 Closest to the Pin; longest drive; and whatever else the sponsors cook up for the participants.

Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. The silent auction will close at 7 p.m. (followed by the live auction) and dinner will be served at 7 p.m.
