Dog lovers gathered in 琉璃神社 over the May long weekend for the annual 琉璃神社 Kennel Club Dog Show.
After a few years off, show superintendent Mike Williamson was glad to be back.
Over 1,400 dogs were said to have competed.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been going up. It steadily goes up at a slow rate,鈥 Williamson said about the show鈥檚 growth over the years. He noted people travelled from all across Canada and many drove up from the U.S. to enter the competition.
Dogs of all shapes and sizes could be seen strutting their stuff.
鈥淲e have incorporated limited breed shows. What we have, they are specialized for certain breeds. We have a herding specialty, a working specialty, and sporting.鈥
One day of the competition even included a UK theme, meaning only breeds from the United Kingdom were eligible to enter.
The show was hosted May 19-22 at the Parkinson Rec sports fields.
