Superstar Langley musician Dallas Smith in celebrating another career first.

Two-time JUNO Award winner and three-time CCMA entertainer of the year, Smith continues to expand his global impact, announcing several milestone performances and record-breaking accolades, adding to an already impressive list of his international achievements.

The biggest news in all of this came this week, when the country musician from Walnut Grove confirmed he will make his debut on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville late this spring.

鈥淭wenty-five years after first stepping into a vocal booth back in 1999, this wasn鈥檛 even on my radar,鈥 Smith shared with his fans.

鈥淲as just a kid that was obsessed with music and dreamt about performing and recording,鈥 he recalled.

In fact, he first rose to music fame as the lead singer for a hard rock band called Default, before the band disbanded and he pursued a solo country music career.

鈥淎s I got older, I fell in love with country music.鈥

And 15 years ago he made my first trip to Nashville, with what he called 鈥渁 few like-minded friends鈥 and quickly learned more about this venue, it鈥檚 history, and what it meant to be invited in what many refer to as the 鈥渉allowed circle.鈥

鈥淭his is a day I鈥檝e been dreaming would come,鈥 Smith beamed.

鈥淸A] kid from the West Coast of Canada stepping into one of the greatest honours a country artist can get,鈥 he shared.

鈥淐an鈥檛 thank the Opry enough for this great privilege and as always I hope to make Canada proud,鈥 Smith said.

That Wednesday evening show in the Nashville landmark will also feature a performance by a group called 49 Winchester, and more artists still to be announced.

The Grand Ole Opry debut follows what will be Smith鈥檚 first appearance at Nashville鈥檚 CMA Fest with a performance on the Good Molecules Reverb Stage on June 8.

鈥淣ashville really has come to feel like a second home for me, and after this many years of making country music, it feels amazing to be stepping into these rooms and onto these stages for the first time,鈥 Smith said.

鈥淚 respect the tradition of country music, so being a part of it in this way is something I am truly looking forward to.鈥

Last October, Smith released his self-titled album, and it鈥檚 one of his singles, 鈥淔ixer Upper,鈥 that recently earned the artist further accolades.

He became the first Canadian artist to earn 13 No. 1 singles at Canadian country radio with this latest chart-topper.

Smith is also the 2022 CMA International Award nominee for the Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award has notched 21 gold-certified singles, nine platinum-certified singles, and four gold-certified albums across his storied career.

He鈥檒l go for his 14th No. 1 with new global focus track 鈥淯se Me,鈥 now impacting country radio worldwide including Canada, Australia, and the U.K..

Amassing 520 million global on-demand streams and over two million album equivalents, Smith鈥檚 self-titled album 鈥渂lends the singer-songwriter鈥檚 arena-ready, rock-tinged sound with contemporary Nashvillian wit and cascading lyricism鈥 (Holler).

鈥淚鈥檝e been making music for a long time, and I can confidently say that these songs feel like an amalgamation of all the different pieces that make up who I am and the kind of music I want to make,鈥 Smith said of the latest album.
