Nice Horse, one of Canada's most renowned country music acts of the last decade, is coming to Penticton's Peach Festival.

The Alberta-based duo will take the main stage on Aug. 8, and serve as opener for Steven Lee Olson on Tim Hortons Country Night.

Featuring Katie Rox (vocals/banjo/acoustic guitar) and Brandi Sidoryk (vocals/bass), Nice Horse has earned two Canadian Country Music Awards and eight nominations at the CCMA since the release of its debut record in 2017.

The group has also notched 10 Country Music Alberta Awards.

Nice Horse will replace the previously announced Lydia Sutherland as opening entertainment for the country-themed night.

"We are thrilled to have Nice Horse join the lineup for this year's festival," said Alysha Forrest, entertainment director at Penticton Peach Festival. "Their energetic performances and impressive achievements in the country music scene make them the perfect addition to our event."

Nice Horse's most recent album, a self-titled record, was released in April 2024.

When the duo comes to Okanagan Lake Park in Penticton, they're expected to play previous singles like Cowgirl, which peaked at No. 31 on the Billboard charts and amassed more than 1.8 million online streams. Their song Pony Up was featured on the hit Netflix show My Life With the Walter Boys.

Penticton Peach Festival takes place from Aug. 7 to 11. A schedule of the free, family-fun event can be found
