A South Okanagan venue is set to host one of Canada's most decorated country music artists.

Gord Bamford, the Australian-born and Alberta-raised musician, is coming to Oliver's District Wine Village on Thursday, June 27.

Doors for the outdoor concert will open at 7 p.m., with Bamford set to take the stage at 8 p.m.

With 28 top-10 singles in Canada, including Dive Bar and When Your Lips Are So Close, Bamford is a two-time recipient of the Country Music Association's Global Country Artist Award. The honour is handed to musicians who are based outside of the United States.

At home, the Alberta country star has been on the receiving end of 26 Canadian Country Music Association awards.

Bamford is currently on a tour across the nation but will return to the Okanagan on July 19, when he comes to the Vernon Towne Theatre.
