Documentary featuring Revelstoke to premiere at VIMFF

The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF) will soon be showcasing Revelstoke's in a documentary, Safe Haven: The Rainbow-Jordan Wilderness

The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF) will soon be showcasing Revelstoke's vast and stunning wilderness. 

The documentary, Safe Haven: The Rainbow-Jordan Wilderness is described as taking "audiences on a journey back in time, deep into the Rainbow-Jordan wilderness near Revelstoke, with the people working to preserve its rare ecosystems and 2,000-year-old trees."

The documentary is set to have a world premiere at VIMFF's Fall Series, November 12-20, and will also stream online November 12-8. The documentary was directed by B.C.-based storyteller and multi-media producer, Damien Gillis. His previous work consists of a featured documentary, Fractured Land with CBC鈥檚 Documentary Channel which he co-directed and won the best B.C. film and Canadian audience award at the 2015 Vancouver International Film Festival. Gillis has also directed numerous short films related to water, salmon, forests, energy issues and social justice.
