Get jazzed this Nov. 5, when the Rotary Centre for the Arts brings the Jeremy Ledbetter Trio live to the Mary Irwin Theatre stage.
The Jeremy Ledbetter Trio will feature Grammy-award-winning drummer Larnell Lewis of Snarky Puppy.
The trip blends jazz and world music with dynamic energy and skilled musicianship said theatre programming director, Andrew Stauffer.
The Jeremy Ledbetter Trio combines the precision of classical chamber music, the diverse rhythms and improvisational freedom of jazz, and the energy of rock to create exceptional works of music. This is a must-see performance not just for jazz fans, but for lovers of music,鈥 explained Stauffer.
Jeremy Ledbetter will be on piano alongside six-string bassist Rich Brown, joined by drummer Larnell Lewis.
Their debut album, Got a Light? (2018), has been described as 鈥渁 controlled explosion of big ideas and compelling musical storytelling.鈥
The most recently released album, Gravity, has also received good reviews.
According to Stauffer, the Jeremy Ledbetter Trio is known for its innovative approach to jazz, delivering a high-energy performance that blends dynamic rhythms with captivating musicianship.
鈥淛eremy Ledbetter has been creating genre-bending original music since forming the Caribbean Latin jazz outfit CaneFire in 2004. Since then, he has worked with an international array of artists, including David Rudder, Eliana Cuevas, and the Larnell Lewis Band,鈥 explained Stauffer.
The evening will also include a performance by local jazz favourites, the Craig Thomson Quartet.
