Just before the sugar-high of Halloween wears off, many communities will end the night with a bang.

There are several fireworks displays planned throughout the North Okanagan Oct. 31.

The BX Swan Lake firefighters light up the night at 8  p.m., but head to the fire hall early for a concession at 6:15 and bonfire at 6:30.

The Coldstream Fire Hall will have a bonfire and hot chocolate at Kal Beach Thursday at 7:15 p.m. followed by fireworks at 8. Lavington already hosted fireworks and fun Saturday.

The Lumby fireworks take place at JW Inglis Elementary School on Thursday evening at 8 p.m.

"You will be able to see them from pretty much anywhere along the north-east side of the village," said Melanie Wenzoski, Lumby's executive assistant/deputy corporate officer. "If you want to be able to hear the music that goes along with the show, you will have to be close to JW Inglis located at 2287 Shuswap Ave."

There will be plenty of parking along Shuswap Avenue between Glencaird and Maple Street, along Maple Street and around the outside of Oval Park, allowing community members to walk over to the school for an unimpeded view.

The Armstrong Spallumcheen Fire Department hosts the annual bonfire and fireworks at the IPE fairgrounds. Fire will be lit at 7:15 p.m., hot dogs and hot chocolate served around 7:30, and the fireworks display is scheduled to start at 7:45. Cash donations will be collected in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

In Enderby the fireworks go off at 8 p.m. from Riverside Park, where the Lions will also be serving hot dogs and hot chocolate at the gazebo from 5-8.
