Great save by a ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç grocery store that has created a larger-than-life display for shoppers to enjoy,
Eric Falkenberg, the assistant operations manager at Save-On-Foods has once again put his skills to the test using soda cans to create large displays.
This time he has designed a Canucks goalie, who is located at the back of the store as well as a homage to Marvel characters spotted near the front of the Orchard Park Plaza Save-On.
Falkenberg has worked at the grocery store at Orchard Plaza for 25 years and about six years ago he entered a contest to create a display using cases of soda cans, he created a large polar bear holding a Coca-Cola bottle and took home the prize money.
Now, he continues his displays of massive displays of soda cans creating everything from a semi-truck built with 5,000 Coca-Cola boxes to a flatbed truck carrying a large pumpkin to Elf on the Shelf and this past January he created eight sculptures celebrate the spirit of the Superbowl.
The assistant manager has a total of eight awards but estimates he’s put together around 50 displays over the six years.
Falkenberg plans out the displays about a year in advance, drawing out his ideas on graph paper to get an estimate of the number of boxes needed.
