Metal bands bang heads for Armstrong food bank

Armstrong is ready to rock for a cause.

West Metal Entertainment Society presents a metal show Saturday, Jan. 27, 7:30 p.m. for the food bank.

鈥淛anuary can be boring. Let鈥檚 spice it up for a good cause,鈥 said Jesse Valstar, treasurer of the Society, which puts on Armstrong MetalFest.

Odinfist opens the event at 8 p.m., followed by Nomad at 9:30.

鈥淥dinfist has been itching to play our new material from our latest album Remade in Steel,鈥 said Valstar, also of Odinfist. 鈥淪hould be a rip roaring awesome time.鈥

A $10 suggested donation at the door will see 100 per cent of the proceeds going to the food bank.

MetalFest is Western Canada鈥檚 largest mountain mosh pit, which recently launched early bird weekend passes for the 2024 lineup being held on July 12 and 13 at the Hassen Arena in Armstrong.

The 14th annual gathering of metalheads will once again witness a pilgrimage of extreme metal music fans for two days of unforgettable moshing, headbanging, and camping.
