The Okanagan Symphony Orchestra (OSO) is bringing 鈥楥omfort and Joy鈥 to the holiday season.
This year, the orchestra featuring tenor Ken Lavigne and the Okanagan Children鈥檚 Choir will be making stops in 琉璃神社, Penticton, and Vernon to sing everyone鈥檚 favourite Christmas carols.
鈥淢usic is such an important part of celebrating the holidays, and has been for centuries,鈥 said OSO Music Director Rosemary Thomson. 鈥淎dding voices to orchestra is the ultimate way to sing in the season and I鈥檓 thrilled that BC鈥檚 own Ken Lavigne will join the Okanagan Children鈥檚 Choir and the OSO for our concert at this magical time of year.鈥
Lavigne is a founding member of the Canadian Tenors, as well as OSO鈥檚 timpanist Dominique Bernath.
鈥淚 love so many things about the holiday season, the eggnog, the lights but I especially love the music and all the memories that come from this time of year,鈥 said Lavigne. 鈥淚 am so excited to perform with the OSO and the Okanagan Children鈥檚 Choir.鈥
This is also the fourth time the Okanagan Children鈥檚 Choir is making with OSO.
The show is taking place on:
鈥 Friday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the 琉璃神社 Community Theatre
鈥 Saturday, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cleland Community Theatre
