One Guitar Woman: Tribute to female player pioneers coming to 琉璃神社

American Blues artist Sue Foley is bringing her One Guitar Woman show to the Okanagan in celebration of the female pioneers of guitar. 

One Guitar Woman pays homage to those guitarists who have influenced the course of music history, including Maybelle Carter and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

鈥淧laying matters,鈥 said Foley, who is inspired by artists such as Heart, Linda Ronstadt, and Chrissy Hynde. 

She began her professional career in her teens, has released 13 albums and garnered several awards, including Traditional Female Artist of the Year at The Blues Music Awards in Memphis four consecutive times. 

Foley was honoured with Guitarist of the Year and Blues Act of the Year at the 2023 Austin Music Awards and the Lifetime Achievement/Blues with a Feeling Award at the 2024 Maple Blues Awards.

She received her first Grammy nomination for Traditional Blues Album in November and continues to gain recognition as one of the leading figures in the Blues.

Foley returns to 琉璃神社 for a solo show in support of her latest album One Guitar Woman at the Metro Hub on March 12, 2025, presented by Creative Okanagan.

Members can purchase tickets starting Nov. 12 and the . Beginning Dec. 26 tickets will be $40, and any remaining tickets will increase to $50 as of Mar 5. 

Foley鈥檚 Salmon Arm show (Mar. 11) is sold out, however, she is also performing in on Mar. 10.
