A few weeks after cars were zooming up Knox Mountain, it was time for skaters to race their way downhill on Saturday.
June 17 marked the first day of the second annual Knox Mountain Downhill event, where long boarders race down the mountain as fast as they can.
Throughout the two day event, boarders race down the hill in qualifying races to start with the best advancing to the finals for the chance to win a cash prize.

On Sunday, there will be also women鈥檚, open, and grom (youth) races.
This year, more than 190 people are taking place in the event. Men and women who are racing can also use this event to qualify for Team Canada downhill skateboarding.
The event is free for people to attend and food trucks are on site. It is put on by the Kamloops Longboard Club.
