From the deep freeze of winter to the spring thaw, a Canadian comedy mainstay is touring the country, and Vernon is on the list of stops.
Celebrating its 15th year of laughs galore, the all-Canadian Snowed In Comedy Tour is stopping in 70 cities coast to coast, including two North Okanagan venues.
The tour is making a stop at SilverStar Mountain Resort鈥檚 NATC Auditorium for two shows on Thursday, Jan. 4, at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
The tour will also make its way back to Vernon a month later with a show at the Vernon and District Performing Arts Centre Friday, Feb. 9.
The independent tour has received standing ovations around the world, having performed in Australia, the U.S., France and Switzerland.
The tour has become a Canadian success story. It started as a way for Dan Quinn, the tour鈥檚 founder, to pay his rent while also having enough money to snowboard with friends. Now, it has become the biggest comedy tour in Canada.
This year, four international comedians are coming together to create the show. Each comedian brings a unique brand of humour, so there鈥檚 something for everyone. Quinn, who is also a Just for Laughs winner, is sharing the stage with Great Canadian Laugh Off winner Paul Myrehaug and six-time Canadian Comedian of the Year nominee Pete Zedlacher. Erica Sigurdson, a regular on CBC鈥檚 The Debaters, will also join the ranks.
