O'Keefe Ranch is calling on spirits to play out a timeless production.
Auditions take place Saturday, Oct. 12 for A Christmas Carol.
The story of Ebenezer Scrooge returns in an immersive experience at the historic ranch.
"As audiences walk through the ranch's historical buildings, they'll follow the tale of redemption as Scrooge is visited by the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future," said marketing manager Carmen Thompson.
Characters for audition:
• Scrooge: male, 40s to 70s (three actors will be cast)
• Bob Cratchit: male, 30s to 40s
• Mrs. Cratchit: female, 30s to 40s
• Fred (Scrooge's nephew): male, 30s to 40s
• Fred’s wife: female, 30s to 40s
• Carolers: open age, must be able to sing
• Ghost of Marley: male, 40s to 60s (this role will be filmed)
• Mr. Fezziwig: male, 50s to 70s
• Mrs. Fezziwig: female, 50s to 70s
• Belle: female, 20s to 30s
• Young Scrooge (adult): Male, 20s to 30s
• Young Boy Scrooge: male, 8 to 12 (this role will be filmed)
• Ghost of Christmas Past: Any gender, 20s to 70s
• Ghost of Christmas Present: any gender, 20s to 70s
• Tiny Tim: male/female, 8 to 12
• Grave Maker: any gender, 50s to 70s
• Maid/Thief: female, 20s to 70s
All cast members will receive an honorarium for their participation.
Auditions take place Oct. 12, 2-4 p.m. at the O'Keefe Ranch Museum. No experience or preparation is required.
The production will run from Nov. 27 to Dec. 15, with shows from Wednesday to Sunday. Rehearsal dates will be set soon, and the show will involve both filmed and live performances. Double casting is also possible to assist with scheduling.
