Canada Day in Peachland promises to be a popular affair with an ABBA and Fleetwood Mac tribute band.
Activities are planned throughout the day for Heritage Park, Beach Avenue and 1st Street:
- 1 - 8 p.m. - Bouncy castle and sparkle tattoos;
- 1 - 1:45 p.m. - Leif David, children’s magic show;
- 1:45 - 3 p.m. - Papa Thom and the Elderly Brothers Concert;
- 2:30 - 4 p.m. - Kids t-shirt art with Peachland Community Arts Council;
- 4:30 - 5 p.m. - Canada Day parade - Beach Avenue from 1st to 13th streets will be closed to traffic;
- 6 - 6:30 p.m. - mayor's address, national anthem (Papa Thom), cake cutting;
- 6:30 - 8 p.m. - ABBA tribute concert by Arrival & Dreams;
- 8:30 - 10 p.m. - Fleetwood Mac tribute concert by Arrival & Dreams;
- 10 p.m. - Fireworks Over the Lake.
There will be a pancake breakfast at the 50+ Centre from 8 to 11 a.m. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children six to 12 years old, and free for children five and under.
