Pradha Farm in Oyama is hosting a concert is celebration of farmers and food sustainability. The June 29, 2024 event features 琉璃神社 bands Under the Rocks and new jazz outfit Kinfolk Nation.

An Oyama farm is celebrating growers and their dedication to the community with a concert.

鈥淎t Pradha Farm we look to support those who use self-sustaining practices by offering land use for ecological farming,鈥 said founder, Genevieve Daniel. 鈥淲e also show an appreciation of music, arts, and culture.鈥

The June 29 event features bluegrass band Under the Rocks and new jazz outfit Kinfolk Nation, both from 琉璃神社.

Daniel said there is a message that goes along with the music.

鈥淥ur intention is to raise awareness around the challenges within the farming industry and to promote and empower more farming initiatives.鈥

Noting Lake Country鈥檚 historical agriculture roots, she added that Pradha Farm addresses modern issues including housing accessibility, food security, and bridging the past with the present.

Pradha鈥檚 farmers live in tiny homes that can be driven away without leaving a footprint on the land, but allows them access to caring for crops and animals.

鈥淲e believe we have a way that can support young farmers in accessing farmland which recognizes the importance of small-scale farming and food security in our communities.鈥 Daniel said.

Her hope is that the Agricultural Land Commission will work with local municipalities to support struggling farmers.

Urban Harvest will be offering up fresh fruit and vegetables to concert goers, free or by donation, to support their weekly deliveries to the 琉璃神社 Women鈥檚 Shelter and The Bridge Youth and Family Services Society.

Other vendors and artisans will also be on site.
