PHOTOS: Splash-filled pawty and pawt luck for Okanagan dachshunds

The annual 琉璃神社 Dachshund Club pool party was hosted at Erin Green's house in Vernon.

The party of the year was hosted on Sunday, July 28, as dachshunds of all shapes and sizes took part in the annual pool Pawty and Pawt luck, hosted in Vernon from the 琉璃神社 Daschund Club.

According to organizer Erin Green, the club started off as a "joke" as a way to show off dachshunds, but has since grown. The Facebook group has close to 2,500 members.

"We have a Halloweenie walk, as well but I have been hosting the pool party for several years," said Green.

The party featured close to 20 dogs, swimming and splashing about, along with numerous guests who soaked up the sun rays.

A special guest also made an appearance, as Willie the weenie graced everyone's presence.

, after being found emaciated and near-death in a trail between Lake Country and 琉璃神社.

According to Green, "SPCA fixed him up and he was promptly adopted."

The appearance of Wilfred at the party was a welcome sight as he has been on the road to recovery for three months.
