°±ð±ô´Ç·É²Ô²¹â€™s Amnesty International group will show the film A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasques Story this Saturday at the First United Church hall.
The documentary is about a young woman born with a syndrome that makes it very difficult for her to gain weight who, at 17, discovers on YouTube that she has been declared the ·É´Ç°ù±ô»å’s ugliest woman.
She fights back by setting up her own YouTube channel which grows to over 450,000 subscribers, promoting kindness and self-esteem.
She becomes an internationally acclaimed motivational speaker and travels to Washington, D.C. to lobby on behalf of the Safe Schools Improvement Act with the aim of legislating bullying.
