UBC Okanagan's Faculty of Critical and Cultural Studies will host a lecture by visiting artist, Patrik Andersson, Monday from 2:30-3:45 p.m. in UNC 106 at the 琉璃神社 campus.
An Associate Professor in Critical and Cultural Studies, he teaches contemporary art and ideas which are informed by his freelance activities as an art critic and curator with interests ranging from conceptual art to design disciplines.
Andersson holds a PhD in Art History from the University of British Columbia with a dissertation on the post-war reception of Marcel Duchamp's work in New York, Paris and Stockholm Euro-Pop: The Mechanical Bride Stripped Bare in Stockholm, Even 1954-1966.
Since 1997 he has also been operating the independent curatorial and publishing project Trapp and writes irregularly for a number of publications.
