After five years in downtown ΑπΑ§ΙρΙη, a restaurant known for itβs variety of cocktails is shutting itβs doors for good.
Open since Canada day 2018, Jackβs on Bernard era is coming on Jan. 1.
βDespite the hopes of remaining a staple in ΑπΑ§ΙρΙηβs food and beverage scene, the lack of government support for businesses affected by unforeseen events became the decisive factor,β said owner Casey Greabeiel. βJackβs had a remarkable five-year run, but a series of challenges, culminating in the August fire, has led us to this difficult decision.β
Greabeiel added that over a four-week span due to the Grouse Complex of wildfires in August, the restaurant lost more than $100,000 in revenue.
Despite losing Jackβs, the restaurantβs entire team will be transitioning to roles with other restaurants under the Unconventional Hospitality Group umbrella, which includes Pretty Not Bad, Salt & Brick, and Diner Deluxe.
βWhile bidding farewell to Jackβs was a tough decision, we are excited about consolidating our efforts and resources into our other projects,β said Greabeiel.
Jackβs on Bernard will have one final celebration on New Yearβs Eve at 5 p.m. Jackβs final hurrah will have people dancing late into the night.
βJackβs holds a special place in my heart, and Iβm immensely proud of what weβve achieved.β
