Black African queer and non-binary musician Tonye Aganaba is coming to 琉璃神社's Mary Irwin Theatre on April 5.
Andrew Stauffer, Theatre Director at the Rotary Centre for the Arts said, 鈥淭onye is a powerful singer, songwriter, and performer. Their live shows are full of rich melodies, tight rhythms, and soulful explorations, all performed by top-notch musicians.鈥
Aganaba explores themes of vulnerability, healing and collective empowerment in their music, connecting to their roots in Nigeria and Zimbabwe. Their music weaves elements of soul, funk, hip-hop, neo-folk, and blues.
