Many 鈥榮pirits鈥 were raised at the Laurel Packinghouse in 琉璃神社 on Saturday (Feb. 3) as Feaster hosted their Whisky Global event.

Residents who attended were able to try and sample whiskys from 24 different companies from far and wide. Local company Okanagan Spirits was in attendance while there were other companies from across Canada, the United States, and even from Scotland and Finland.

鈥淲e are celebrating and educating everybody on all things whisky, from around the globe,鈥 said Feaster event producer Hannah Stephens.

Saturday鈥檚 event was the second annual in 琉璃神社 and after its success, Feaster plans on expanding the event to Calgary and Toronto.

As the sold out crowd enjoyed all the different whiskys, meals were provided by local restaurant Broken Anchor and live music was performed.

Whisky can have a very niche audience and according to Stephens, the purpose of the event is to continue to grow the whisky industry.

鈥淎dam Block, who started the event, he鈥檚 a massive whisky lover and I think he just wanted to create a platform to celebrate that and educate people on the pallet of whisky,鈥 said Stephens.

鈥淭he people who love whisky, love it,鈥 added Feaster event producer Josh Watson.

When asked if the event will be back in 2025, Stephens said 鈥測es, definitely!鈥
