The 琉璃神社 RCMP have closed Rutland Road from Leathead Road to Hartman Road in both directions due to multiple collisions involving vehicles and pedestrians.
The RCMP has confirmed that the incidents are related and were all caused by the same driver.
Cst. Mike Della-Paolera said multiple people have been taken to the hospital, but clarified that no children were harmed.
One person has been taken into police custody for questioning.

The RCMP asks that motorists avoid the area.
A press release sent by the RCMP states that parents needing to drop their children off at Rutland Middle or Senior Schools are able to use Dodd Road as an alternative.
Emergency vehicles are currently at the scene and the road will be closed for an undetermined amount of time.
Reconstructionists including the BC Highway Patrol and the 琉璃神社 traffic unit are leading the investigation.
