A trailer caught fire and was destroyed on July 25 near Lake Country. It is not currently known what started the fire.

One lane of Highway 97 headed south from Lake Country is currently closed while fire crews finish clearing a fire in a camper trailer.

The fire was reported around 1 p.m. and a half-hour later the fire was largely extinguished.

The camper trailer is located in the grass and away from Highway 97, south of the intersection with Beaver Lake Road.

The fire destroyed the camper trailer, but the flames did not appear to have spread to the nearby brush surrounding it.

Given the graffiti visible on what remains of the trailer, it is unclear as to how long it had been at that location.

RCMP also responded to the scene.
