Chase the Wonder Dog with Central Okanagan Search and Rescue

Chase" the Wonder Dog" was one of the best good boys.

The black lab was trained as the first K9 search and rescue dog for the Central Okanagan team.

Chase joined Central Okanagan Search and Rescue in late 2021 under handler and volunteer Terry Downs.

The K9 member had many successful rescues and proved himself to be an assest to the team.

Sadly, Chase died suddenly while off-duty on March 7.

In memory of Chase, COSAR has sponsored the "Earring" trail in Chase's name in Myra Bellevue Provincial Park.

Members of the community are invited to join the rescue volunteers on July 25 at 6 p.m.

To celebrate the life of Chase and the sponsorship, everyone is asked to gather at the Steward Road East parking lot before setting off together to hike, bike or run the trail.

A barbecue will be hosted following the hike.
