Family and friends of Thomas Kruger-Allen have taken to social media to share their sorrow and confirm that he was the victim of the May 12 stabbing in Penticton.
Kruger-Allen made headlines for several years involving the criminal justice system prior to Saturday鈥檚 altercation.
RCMP stated in a press release that the incident occurred around 2 a.m. and was a 鈥榯argeted鈥� attack.
Penticton RCMP told the Western News that they will not be releasing any further information at this time, and did not confirm Kruger-Allen鈥檚 reported identity or whether a second person had been taken to the hospital with stab wounds.
According to posts on social media, it was Kruger-Allen鈥檚 younger brother who was the second victim of the altercation.
The RCMP has asked anyone with information to come forward, and also for people to avoid the crime scenes at Lakeshore Drive and Power Street and the skate park at Riverside Park while they investigate.
Those who knew Kruger-Allen closely call him a loving, hard-working man who took the time to think about his life while incarcerated and began to turn it around.
Kruger-Allen received a five-year jail sentence in 2021 for assaulting three strangers in 2019, an incident that left Brad Eliason in an induced coma for several days and cost him his job and marriage. That assault occurred while Kruger-Allen was out on bail for an unrelated and also unprovoked attack on a man outside the then-Blue Mule club.
