The first day of the Diwali Festival of Lights was celebrated at the ÁðÁ§ÉñÉç campus of Okanagan College with dance, song, henna fashion and fun.
The Oct. 30, event was hosted by Okanagan College in the Centre for Learning atrium.
Hundreds of students and staff were in attendance to dance, drink chai and celebrate Diwali together.

Diwali is one of India's most widely celebrated holidays of the year. The major multi-day festival is observed across the world by many communities including Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Jains.
Coinciding with the arrival of the new moon, Diwali is a multiple-day (often five-day) celebration that usually falls in October or November. This year, Diwali takes place on Nov. 1, with the lighting of lamps on the evening of Oct. 31.
The festival is celebrated with colours, food, sweet treats and gifts.
