Do not consume water order lifted for 琉璃神社's Clifton Road area

A do not consume water notice issued for the Clifton Road area has been lifted.

The order was put in place on Monday (Aug. 19) following the discovery of a break-in at the Grainger Road reservoir. 

鈥淚n consultation with Interior Health, drinking water from City Water Utility intakes has been monitored, tested, and is consistently showing results that water is safe to consume by meeting Canadian Drinking Water Quality Guidelines,鈥 a City of 琉璃神社 media release states. 

The affected approximately 1,500 residents in the Clifton Road area.

鈥淥ur team has completed all necessary water quality testing over the last couple of days and there is no result that has indicated that Monday鈥檚 break-in resulted in any issues with our water supply,鈥 said Andy Weremy, water operations manager. 鈥淎 big thank-you to affected residents for their patience and understanding as we worked through this unexpected incident this week.鈥 

The break-in is being investigated by the RCMP. 

Anyone who may have witnessed or has information relating to the incident is asked to call RCMP at 250-762-3300 and reference file number 2024-47894.
