Doors open to public at Okanagan College campuses

Penticton, Vernon and 琉璃神社 welcome communities to check out campuses

College isn't just a space for post-secondary students.

Okanagan College (OC) invites the community to check out what the Penticton, Vernon and 琉璃神社 campuses have to offer.

A new series of Doors Open at OC events is underway following student-focused Open Houses.

Check out the Penticton campus at 583 Duncan Ave., West Tuesday, March 11 from 3-6 p.m.

Visit the Vernon campus at 7000 College Way Thursday, March 13 fro, 3-6 p.m.

琉璃神社's campus is open at 1000 KLO April 8 from, 3-6 p.m.

These events are designed to welcome everyone 鈥 from alumni and families to local businesses and curious community members 鈥 offering a behind-the-scenes look at OC鈥檚 campuses, programs, and learning spaces.

鈥淎t OC, we believe that education should be accessible, welcoming and supportive for every learner, no matter their pathway,鈥 said Alison Gibson, dean of community engagement and careers. 鈥淭hese events are a way for us to connect with our communities and show that OC is a place where everyone is welcome.鈥

The events follow the launch of Doors Open at OC in Salmon Arm earlier this year.

At each Doors Open at OC event, attendees can:

  • Meet OC鈥檚 leadership team and learn about the .
  • Tour the campus, including unique learning places, new student housing, and key points of pride.
  • Learn about , including new offerings, flexible learning options and .
  • Find out about , interactive summer camps designed for kids in grades 1 to 12.
  • Enter to win tuition vouchers for ) programs and short courses.

There will be light refreshments, giveaways and plenty of opportunities to connect with OC staff and students. 

鈥淲hile Open Houses support future learners through their post-secondary options, Doors Open at OC is about inviting the broader community to our campuses, building community connections, and sharing the many ways OC contributes to the region,鈥 said Gibson.

Whether exploring new career opportunities, reconnecting as an alum, or simply curious about what happens on campus, everyone is welcome to discover OC.
