A 33-storey high rise planned for the corner of Lawrence Avenue and Water Street goes to a public hearing on Nov. 5.

The Mission Group development features 173 condos, 89 long-term rental units and 587 square metres of commercial space.

The first storey features three commercial units facing Water St. and Lawrence Ave. The middle of the tower (levels 6-12) contains the long-term units and amenity space. Levels 13 to 32 contain market condos, outdoor pool, indoor sauna, a lounge and a fitness area. Mechanical equipment is located on level 33.

Staff recommend support for the project noting its form and character is consistent with the Official Community Plan, meets the majority of design guidelines for high-rise, mixed-use buildings, and the long-term rentals address the city鈥檚 Housing Needs Assessment.

The public hearing starts at 5 p.m. in council chambers.
