Elementary solution to playground features at Central Okanagan park

Grade Five students from Ellison Elementary contributed ideas

With inspiration from students at Ellison Elementary, the installation of play features at Scotty Creek Community Park will start on Sept. 16.

鈥淭he Regional District Central Okanagan acknowledges and thanks Kate Ivanovic鈥檚 Grade Five Class (2023-2024) who contributed their ideas for play elements that they would enjoy at the park through persuasive paragraphs that she shared with parks staff,鈥 and RDCO media release states.

The overwhelming request was a Gaga Ball Pit and the RDCO has included it as one of the features in addition to a 9 Square Game and rock wall climber.

The work will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. each day with project completion expected by Sept. 27.

Visitors are asked to adhere to construction signage and worker directions in the area, especially the shared driveway to Ellison Elementary School. Flaggers will also be on the scene.
