Drivers heading east next week should expect delays on Highway 97A between Mara and Sicamous.
In a social media post on May 15, AIM Roads announced a geotechnical investigation planned for the 6.9 kilometre stretch between Hutchison Road near the start of Mara Lake, and Davidson Drive in Swansea Point south Sicamous.
Work won鈥檛 affect travel over the May long weekend as it starts on Tuesday, May 21 and will run until Friday, May 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all four days. Single lane alternating traffic will be in effect, but AIM warns drivers to expect 鈥渓engthy delays.鈥�
They encourage people to use detour available via Highway 97B at Grindrod through to Highway 1 at Salmon Arm.
