The Mission Gospel (KGM) is set to do their part to help out the community this holiday season.
On Saturday, Dec. 23 and Monday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day), the organization will be handing out lunch and dinner to-go meals to people experiencing homelessness at their Bay and Leon locations.
“The Christmas season is about extending kindness and also extending your table,” said KGM food service manager Jeremy Luypen. “When food is served and passed around the table with true gratitude and appreciation for one another we have a deeper understanding of each other and that’s what makes these meals so special.”
With community sponsors and volunteers, KGM can expand its service. On the 23rd, KGM will be giving out 250 meals at their Bay and Leon located at 251 Leon Avenue while on both the 23rd and the 25th, around 130 meals will be given out at Tent City.
KGM has also had help from local chefs, the Okanagan Chef Association (OCA), and Telus.
“We are doing more than just filling stomachs and making memories, we are filling souls and hearts with something greater,” added Luypen.
