UPDATE 1:47 p.m.
The fire at Quail Place apartments was an electrical fire and happened in a third floor laundry room, KFD Platoon Captain Scott Clarke told Capital News at the scene.
Upon arrival, there was no visible smoke and flames outside the building. Crews quickly knocked down the blaze in the laundry room, minimizing damage. No building residents or firefighters were injured.
According to Clarke, all residents will be able to go home today.
The original reporter was for a high occupancy fire alarm in the building, and was upgraded to a structure fire.
KFD responded with four engines, a ladder unit, and a safety unit. The RCMP and an ambulance also arrived on the scene. FortisBC was called to the scene, but cancelled before they arrived.

An apartment building in 琉璃神社 has been evacuated on Tuesday afternoon (Aug.20) after reports of a fire in the building.
Five fire crews were called to 2025 Baron Road, Quail Place Apartments, just before1 p.m. While its unknown at this time where the fire was in the building, it has been extinguished by the 琉璃神社 Fire Department (KFD).
An ambulance is also on scene, but it's believed no one is injured.
Baron Road is closed due to emergency vehicles.
