Flames from a car on fire inside a unit of a commercial building at 1525 Keene Road quickly spread Tuesday morning.
According to Capitan Corrie Lang, the blaze was upgraded to a structure fire before crews arrived on scene.
鈥淭he fire was contained to one unit, which was a good job by our crews knocking it down quickly,鈥 said Lang.
One person was treated for smoke inhilation and taken to hospital.
Units beside where the fire occurred will have to be ventilated for smoke, however, no one was inside the adjoining businesses at the time.
鈥淭here's some roof damage to the trusses and stuff, but the crews did pretty good knock it down quickly and we could have got into that roof area,鈥 said Lang.
At this time it鈥檚 not known how the car fire started.
Gas and electricity have been cut off at the building.

Smoke and flames could be seen rising from the area from across 琉璃神社.
The blaze started in a commercial building where Hampton Pools Landscaping is located. According to those on scene, the landscaping business may have been about to open when employees noticed smoke.
Five fire trucks, RCMP and BC Ambulance were called to the scene at about 8 a.m.
It鈥檚 unclear how the fire started or if anyone was injured.
