Highway 3 opened Tuesday night, Nov. 7 at the rock slide site west of Keremeos.
According to DriveBC, the highway will open to single-lane traffic between Hedley-Nickleplate Road and Ashnola Rd.
The BC Highway cameras currently show the road open as of 3:45 p.m.
The highway closed on Sunday evening, Nov. 5 when large boulders came down on the highway.
The slide prompted the RDOS to issue an evacuation order for two properties. Those evacuations have not yet been lifted.
There is currently no timeline on when the Evacuation Order will be rescinded or downgraded to an Evacuation Alert.
The RDOS is also aware of a power outage impacting FortisBC customers.
Telus services are currently experiencing a disruption impacting landline phones in Keremeos, due to the rockslide, which may affect people’s ability to reach emergency (911) services. Impacted services include 911 Landline, Internet, Home Phone, and Optik/PIK TV.
Telus’ mobile services are not affected.
Due to safety reasons, service technicians are standing down, and will continue to work with local authorities to ensure safe access to the site as quickly as possible. There is currently no estimated time for when Telus services will be fully restored, said RDOS Tuesday morning.
