An OCCA Communities Association Town Hall in 琉璃神社 on Sunday (Oct. 6) drew most of the local candidates running in the provincial election.
More than 100 people from various ethnic groups and age demographics attend the event at the downtown library, according to a media release provided by the OCCA.
Moderated by executive director Fei Liu, it was first town hall hosted by the OCCA, marking a crucial milestone in promoting civic involvement among the equity-deserving groups represented and partnered with OCCA in the Central Okanagan, the release stated.
All 12 candidates in 琉璃神社, Lake Country and Coldstream, and three candidates in West 琉璃神社 were invited. Seven individuals confirmed attendance, one stated they would respond to questions in written format and two candidates sent their regrets.
The OCCA release did not state which candidates declined to attended the town hall.
